Fusion 44x

Pre-commissioning water parameters

These parameters align with recognised pool water balance guidelines and must be met prior to activating the Fusion 44x system. Pool water must be within acceptable parameters before activation to ensure correct operation and optimal performance.

Parameter Target / acceptable range Recommended / notes
Stabiliser (Cyanuric Acid – CYA) 0 – 100 ppm As low as possible (ideally near 0)
pH 7.2 – 7.8
Total Alkalinity (TA) 80 – 120 ppm 80 – 100 ppm
Calcium Hardness (CH) 150 – 300 ppm Maximum recommended 400 ppm
Phosphates 0 – 100 ppb
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) 500 – 1,500 ppm Action level above 1,500 ppm (consider partial dilution). General indicator of dissolved material; not actively controlled.
Free Chlorine (FC) As close to 0 ppm as possible; max for activation ≤ 0.5 ppm Existing chlorine should dissipate naturally before activation — typically 7–10 days with regular circulation (varies with starting level, sunlight, usage). No additional chlorine to be added during this period.

Before switching on the unit

  • Ensure no active chlorine dosing is taking place.
  • Ensure any other sanitisation systems are switched off or removed.
  • Allow existing chemical levels (particularly chlorine) to reduce naturally.
  • Confirm all parameters are within the ranges above.
  • Ensure circulation and filtration systems are fully operational.

Important considerations

These values are recommended operating ranges, not absolute limits. Slight deviations may be acceptable depending on pool type and environment. Water balance should be assessed alongside pool usage, source water quality, and temperature / heating systems.

Correct water balance prior to activation ensures stable system performance, reduced scaling and maintenance issues, and a faster transition to a consistent, low-intervention, chlorine-free water environment.
